Truck Carrying (LPG) Caught Fire at Skyway and SLEX

>
Early morning traffic in the Skyway area in southern Metro Manila was snarled Monday after a six-wheeler truck carrying liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tanks caught fire.

No one was initially reported injured in the fire but Skyway management advised motorists between Sucat and Alabang to avoid the area, radio dzBB reported.

Sketchy initial reports indicated the driver of the Elf-type truck was involved in a self-accident where the truck turned on its side and caught fire.

The incident occurred just past the southbound part of the Sucat entry area.

A tweet by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said the incident occurred shortly past Waterfun Sucat southbound. Only one lane was passable past 7 a.m, it added. However, the MMDA also said the fire was placed under control as of 7:23 a.m.

Tweets:
  •     Isabel Rodriguez: Passed a commotion on Slex Skyway. Apparently a truck carrying lpg fell from the skyway and exploded.
  •     Javier Mantecon: Skyway is messed up. Backed up all the way to the entrance of Alabang
  •     Fonda Valencia: on top of skyway, with an on-going fire with explosions below between Alabang and Sucat exits... scary!!!
  •     Claris Jornales: What is traffic. Traffic sa skyway, traffic sa slex, traffic sa makati jusme hello Monday!
